Adult and Family Medicine:
Our medical staff has been specially trained in
Family Practice and Internal Medicine to handle a wide range of health needs.
As part of our growing network of doctors, we have specialists on staff to treat patients with particular
medical problems. We also provide laboratory services on site for your
convenience.
Cardiology:
Internal Medicine and
Cardiology Associate doctors rotate through HealthFirst twice per month to address your heart
health needs.
Gastroenterology:
Physician from Trusdale Gastroenterology who
specializes in treatment of disorders of the stomach and intestines provides
care to patients atHealthFirst.
 Healthy
Smiles Dental Outreach Program:
Dental services are available onsite to
HealthFirst patients on a limited basis. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. offers the Healthy Smiles
outreach program, which provides preventive and restorative oral health care to
school children (including preschool) in the Greater Fall River area.
Laboratory Services:
Southcoast Health System staffs an onsite phlebotomy
station to draw routine lab tests and deliver samples to Charlton Memorial
Hospital for rapid results.
Medical Case Management:
As part of a holistic approach to individual and
family care, registered nurses develop a plan of treatment with the physician,
social worker, and nutritionist. A member of this team is always available to
assist you with questions about your care.

Nutritional Counseling:
A Registered Dietitian works with physicians to
develop a meal plan that works for you, while treating such conditions as
diabetes, obesity, or simply promoting family health.
Patient Assistance Program:
We understand the difficulty in finding
affordable prescription medications, yet we are concerned that financial
barriers may hinder your ability to get well. Our patient assistance nurse
utilizes a computerized program to access free medications for those who
qualify.

Pediatrics:
HealthFirst Family
Care Centers growing staff of medical providers reminds all
parents that school physicals are required annually. Appointments are available
for all children of Greater Fall River on Tuesday, August 19th, Tuesday August
26th and Wednesday, August 27th. Each appointment also includes a dental
examination or a referral to HealthFirsts dentist. Call Linda Medeiros, Nurse
Manager at 774-627-1244 to schedule an appointment or to obtain more
information about the school physicals.
We offer complete medical care for children of
all ages, including newborns. Our Board Certified pediatrician can help you keep your little ones healthy by
providing excellent treatment for acute illness, as well as immunizations,
checkups and routine screenings.
Prenatal Program/Obstetrics:
At
HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc.,
Truesdale OB-GYN PC staff staff offers a complete prenatal
program to help you enjoy a safe pregnancy and look forward to a healthy baby.
Parents can expect answers to their prenatal questions, nutrition counseling,
and peer support. We also offer free, confidential pregnancy testing. Once the
baby is born, our board-certified pediatrician is on
staff to support and care for you both at the hospital and at home.
Social Services:
A Licensed Social Worker is part of the case
management team who provides a comprehensive approach to wellness. She assists
patients with short term counseling and connects those requiring more intensive
treatment with resources in the community.
Translation Services:
Our multi-lingual staff is as diverse as
the population we serve, speaking English, Spanish, Portuguese, Khmer, and
French.
HealthFirst employs a
full-time trilingual medical interpreter who speaks English, Spanish and
Brazilian Portuguese.
A Cambodian interpreter is available part-time
for patients who speak Khmer. Please tell registration clerk if you will need
translation at your next appointment.
X-Ray and Specialty Referrals:
HealthFirst is closely
connected with both Saint Anne's and Charlton Memorial Hospitals. We routinely
refer patients to the hospital of their choice for x-ray and other diagnostic
tests. In addition, our referral staff utilize the
Medicall system at
SSTAR that assists patients
who need specialty care, but can't afford it.
