Financial Counseling:

Our experienced financial counselors works with you to confidentially determine the best financial program for which you are qualified. If you do not meet eligibility standards for any reason, a sliding fee schedule is available. All insurances are welcome.

  • Medicare—Coverage for seniors and those with disabilities.
  • Medicaid (also called Medical Assistance or MassHealth)—Our staff will help you determine if you are eligible, based on being under the income limit of 200% of poverty. We will assist you in applying for coverage.
  • Neighborhood Health Plan—An HMO with your choice of highly qualified doctors in health centers throughout the state. You have the convenience of going to a local health center that's right in your own neighborhood.
  • Boston Medical Center HealthNet (also called BMC HealthNet)—A managed care organization that provides coverage to Medicaid patients. This plan provides reimbursement for over-the-counter medications.
  • Network Health—Network Health now provides Commonwealth Care Health Insurance to uninsured Massachusetts residents.
  • Children's Medical Security Plan—A Massachusetts program that provides health insurance for children from birth through age 18.
  • Commonwealth Care—The Commonwealth Care Health Insurance Program is a program run by the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector. This program connects eligible Massachusetts residents with approved health insurance plans and helps them pay for it. Commonwealth Care pays the total cost of health insurance for qualified individuals who have income at or below the federal poverty level and helps pay toward the cost of insurance for other qualified individuals. HealthFirst's Financial Counselors Paulette Couture and Elsie Pereira are available to answer your questions or help you apply for insurance programs through this program whether you are already a HealthFirst patient or interested in becoming one.   • Project Bread—For your convenience, a member of HealthFirst's staff is available to assist our patients in completing a Food Stamp application at HealthFirst. To schedule an appointment, call Sam Pech at 508-679-8111 Ext. 275.
