Anila Khalid, DMD finished her pre-med requirements at Michigan State University (MSU) from 1994 to 1998 and at the same time earned a Master’s degree in Entomology from MSU.  Dr. Khalid joined us when she graduated from Boston University School of Dental medicine in 2003.  Dr. Khalid was appointed our Dental Director in July, 2005 and has a comprehensive and compassionate approach to patient care.  Dr. Khalid has worked extensively to promote the importance of preventive dental care in both adult and pediatric underserve populations.  Her focus is on raising awareness about oral health and its relationship to general health and well-being and reflects HealthFirst’s mission of treating the whole person. She is a member of American Dental Society and Massachusetts Dental Association and actively seeks continuing education opportunities to keep herself updated with the current knowledge of dentistry.


Ahmad Iad Bakir, DDS graduated from dental school in 2003.  He did his one year internship and 2 years residency in Miami Valley hospital.  He was the chief of residents.  This unique opportunity expanded his dental skills and training, and helped him get great experience in all the areas of dental care, especially oral surgery and hospital dentistry.  Dr. Bakir dedicated most of his time to serve patients in need.  He devotes many days each year to continuing dental education courses.


Muhammad Khan, DDS specializes in General Dentistry. He received his dental degree from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He completed his General Practice residency (hospital dentistry) at St. Elizabeth hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. He then went on to pursue PGY2 General practice residency at St Vincent charity medical center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr Khan is board certified and is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Southeastern District Dental Society, and the  Academy of General Dentistry. Dr Khan has several years of experience in private practices. He joined HealthFirst after three years of practice at Harbor Community Health Center in Hyannis and is committed to providing excellent care and service for patients.


Divya Upadhyay, DMD received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from King George’s Medical University, and completed her internship at the FDS and Surgical emergency and trauma center at Lucknow, India. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, South Shore District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry and The Indian Dental Association. Dr. Upadhyay also has a certification in Invisalign. Divya's strength is rooted in the combination of her skills as both a cosmetic and restorative dentist. Her philosophy is to connect with patients and view dentistry through the patients’ perspective. Dr. Upadhyay is very committed to staying on the leading edge of dental technology through continuing education courses. She does this to provide her patients with the best possible results in the least invasive manner and the highest level of comfort.


Yaman Kana, DDS graduated from Ovidius Dental School in 1998. He worked in the army for two and half years. He then worked at Boston University Student Health Center for two years and found his goal in helping people in need at the at Brockton Neighborhood Community Health Center. Dr. Kana has 18 years of profound dental experience. His best moments are the ones in which he re-establishes his patient’s smile.


Debora Souza, RDH has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2004.  Deborah has worked in both general and pediatric dentistry before joining the HealthFirst team in 2012. She provides patients with preventative oral care.  She especially enjoys educating patients about the importance of maintaining good oral health. Debora takes great pride in being a part of the HealthFirst Team.


Pradeep Venigalla, DDS graduated from dental school in 2001 and has been working as a dentist for over 14 years. He started working in a dental office in California, doing his observer ship at a private dental practice for 2-3yrs.  Dr. Venigalla moved to MA in 2009 and started working in community health center.  He completed a Mini Residency in Endodontics (Root canals) in California in 2013. He enjoys seeing a happy smile on all the patients before and after the dental treatment.   Dr. Venigalla brings a wealth of community health experience to our center.  He is committed to providing quality dental care for the patients.
